Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m the maker behind Made By Hannah Gray, creating one-of-a-kind, entirely handmade pieces in my home studio in Knoxville, Tennessee. I strive to make pottery that is both beautiful and durable—pieces of art you can use every single day. I draw inspiration from the colors and textures found in nature. My love for the outdoors shapes my style, and I’m especially drawn to organic shapes and earthy tones.

I first discovered clay in elementary school, where I loved the freedom to express myself and explore the endless possibilities. I stepped away from pottery in college while studying engineering, but I quickly found my way back. After starting my first engineering job, I took a pottery class at a local studio. Feeling the clay on the wheel brought back the excitement I’d felt years before—it was as if I had never stopped. In that moment, I knew pottery was something I wanted to pursue in my life.

Being both an engineer and an artist used to feel like two opposing forces pulling me in different directions, but over time I’ve realized how they complement each other. My engineering side gives me an eye for structure, durability, and function, while my artistic side brings creativity and vision. Each piece I make is a reflection of that balance: practical enough for everyday life, yet beautiful enough to make every day feel special.

Making art, especially pottery, has given me a creative outlet and a sense of peace in a chaotic world. I hope each piece I make carries a bit of that peace and beauty into your home. Thanks so much for being here and for being part of my journey!
